Welcome to the Katherine
Swynford Society website! The aims of the Society are to celebrate
and investigate the life and times of Katherine de Roet, later Lady Swynford, then The Duchess of Lancaster and her
ancestors, contemporaries and descendants. The Society publishes a journal - The
Katherine Wheel - and organizes a series of occasional indoor lectures in the winter and outdoor visits in the
summer months. It also encourages and supports research projects whose purpose is to investigate various
locations and persons associated with Lady Katherine. These may be carried out by members of the Society
or students of History in various educational establishments. On this
website you will find: - a brief summary biography of Lady Katherine's life,
- information on how to become a member of the Society
- coming
soon, there will be a dedicated members only area of the site with PDF copies of our journal The
Katherine Wheel and other content which will be developed progressively.
- Committee member and contact details for the Society
If you have any comments, questions, topics you would like to see covered, or if you would like to
submit an article for The Katherine Wheel, please do get in touch with us.
